Just to start off, I'm pansexual, which means I don't see gender as a barrier with relationships.I'm having big problems approaching people I'm attracted to. Actually this is a bit like a situtation I have been in. Â My gf of 5 years suddenly decided that we needed to break up, pretty much the same reasons as yours. Â We stayed as friends, and I did a bit like you, told her I still loved and she freaked, said we needed to quit talking and whatnot. Â I apologized and kept talking to her, even tho she didn't like it, she still stayed friends with me. Â It was about 3-4 years later she calls me up asking me to go to a party with her. Â We have some drinks, and after just hanging out for a little bit she cuddled up next to me, and said she wished that we had never broken up and that she still loved me and wanted me back. Â In my case, I still loved her that much later as well. Â So, just dont let her get away, but don't shove yourself in her life. Â Oh, but my GF had turned into a crazy drug addict in the 3-4 years, so remember that people change as well...
The last 2 people both are useful. What it sounds like to me is that you were too pushy, perhaps "oh woe is me" too. I'm not sure, only you were there, but often being close clouds judgement. If I'm right, then it's too dangerous for you to demand anything, so what i'd do is straight out explain to her that you aren't going to harass her about being together, but you do want the truth of why it happened. Tell her that if you have a problem then you don't know about it and want to change. Also make sure she knows you just want to be friends. I can't word it perfectly, because it's a hard situation. You do have to be over her though, because there's a chance you will only ever be friends. If you really love her like you should, then this shouldn't be a problem, because for the most part, the only difference between bff and gf is sex. Few women realize this, which accounts for alot of stupidity and breakups. Maybe in the future she will see you are good friends, and that is what she wants to be with. However by then it should just be a bonus for you, because if you're trying to get friendly with her just to get her back, you won't succeed. Or did you not notice that yet?
