What Kinds Of Cars Does The Future Hold?
>>26 this
10 second 1/4 mile Pontica Ventura I never took a photo of it but I'll show you what I did. pics related You can find a Ventura cheap like the in photo. I only spent about $300 on the whole car after stealing most of the parts at a junk yard or the parts were donated.
At first the car would jump around in the back because it had a single leaf spring. I got 2 pairs of multi-leafs at the junk yard. I cut up one pair to make my custom springs. With a chop saw I made the front of the springs longer and the back of the spring original lenght. That acted like a traction bar and keep the springs from twisting around. I also striped out all the interior and only had one seat. The car was illegal as hell to drive, straight headers and no plates but the cops never pulled me over on my way to the location.
Da motor. At the time I put the car together I worked at a machine shop. My boss just moved in the building and their was a huge pile of boxes. The boss said take whatever parts to build the motor just clean up that pile. That pile was full of high performance parts for small block chevys and headed towards the trash. I built a large journal 327 loaded with high performance parts like roller rocker arms, double hump heads with stainless racing valves. The only thing that cost was shot peening the rods about $30. It probably got somewhere between 450-500 horses and was much quicker than a 350.
Oh chevy never made a 4 bolt main 327 so I used a 4 bolt main 350 block and built one. The only difference between 327 and 350 is crank, pistons and rods. It took 11000 rpm revs racing without blowing
Most cars today have a gear ratio of about 3.08:1 and thats whats called tall gears for highway. I had 4.56:1 for quickness but that wasnt good enough so I pulled them and changed it to 5.13:1 Thats when the times got below 11 seconds in 1/4 mile. Thats when a valve lock poped out from reving it so high. I was lucky the valve was stuck shut and didnt drop down into the motor or it would have blown. I still won on 7 cylinders and drove it home for the last time. I fixed it but I gave up on it and was thinking the cops would bust me driving it. Sold it in less than a day $1400
>>62 >It took 11000 rpm revs racing without blowing >when a valve lock poped out from reving it so high. I was lucky the valve was stuck shut and didnt drop down into the motor you are clearly full of shit.
Just recently acquired a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria LTD V8 351 5.8 Windsor :P Classic cars go here!
pic related: mine.
classic cars are a waste of time
>>23 Actually this LTD would make a hot car at the drag strip. It has the Fairmont style body. The four door longer and roomier but weighs about the same as a 78 2 door Maverik. If you pulled the small block and droped in a hopped up 351 C big block backed with a C4 trans it would smoke most of todays performace cars at the drags. They have the same front and rear parts as the Mustang so they handle well. An LTD station wagon would be even better at the drag strip because the coupe is kinda light in the rear. The extra wieght would make the tires stick better.
Koenigsegg = pure bliss
Yo! You motherfuckers wish you had a car as bad-ass as mine. When you're stuck in traffic I just drive over you because I can. I'm the shit with my gangsta ass rims. I DARE you to show me a ride that's better.
I've watched these cars in traffic. They are the most unstable riding cars on the road. Can't turn, loss of acceleration due to massive weight and gearing being effectively changed.I also think these huge wheels are probably fragile,so even if some shmuck could drive over anything larger than a curb, they'd break. They're made in China,so should be some great quality there.Ultimately...FAIL.
Here's a better ride than that ugly sumbitch. The message is for you,BTW.
I suppose it's a matter of taste--there's nothing mechanically wrong with going a little bit bigger on the overall wheel diameter but when it goes to that sort of extreme, you're asking for trouble.
who let the nigger in?
This looks like a nice place to park my van
>>13 looks good to me too - not too many bears.
