How can I trigger a fire alarm system without smoke or deodorant of any kind, and not pulling it?
you cant, Fire systems work by either detecting light via a small area, if it becomes darker or so due to particules blocking it, it sets it off, anothere is a slightly more radioactive kind, it shoots a beam of somethings across to the other side, like a laser, if this laser' is interrupted the alarm ges offf.
oh hai, i really want to play counter strike, but my roommate always has utorrent on.. i'm tired of fucking asking him to turn it off, so i wanted to know if there is any way i can turn it off myself from my own computer. ANYTHING that will work
>>262 find the name of his comp go to cmd prompt type shutdown -s -m \\compname -t 00 replace compname with his computer's name hit enter watch as he WTF's and freaks out while you play counterstrike
bock his mac address is another possibility. heres what to do 1. Run Cmd 2. type: ipconfig 3. hit enter, get ip address 4. type into browser 5. go into your router and block that mofo. (this might not be right...so yea)
how do u disable a dome camera without breaking, painting, shooting etc.. it
>>186 U think im being srs?
Goatse it.
burn out the CMOS sensor with a strong laser pointer
>>251 this. I hear green ones work the quickest. Â escort in my hotel room went crazy with a lazer pointer once....and after about 2 mins of this, i got some fukken aidz

mothercoders, where is the hax here. what shit are you coding in C, perl, whatever that's cool/clever/wtf I'm thinking after this hex editor (hell, before it's done, the original author sucked at coding sometimes so there's loads to rewrite/implement) I'll get on a quick set of utils to map a given bitwise operation to a pair of files. But that's boring so wtf are you guys up to?
I've been looking into/interested in making some kind of automatic image organizer/program organizer/file and video organizer for my /b/ folder but am at an impass as for how the program will identify and sort materials.
i'm writing a realmode/protected mode hybrid operating system in x86Â assembly.
So I'm thinking of switching my OS from Windows Vista to Linux Ubuntu. Good idea? Bad idea? Discuss.
Bad idea, I tried that and ended up without both, deleted my mbr (master boot record, won't boot shit now) :\
i prefer linux.. its faster.. more reliable & does pretty much everything u need it2.. windows is ok but honestly for a OS that u have 2pay for.. it needs 2b alot better.. everytime they come out with a new os it seems 2get worse.. windows 7 is better than vista (microshit themselves said it was a broken os) but xp 2me is far superior in several ways.. (aside from the eyecandy) but 2me i believe windows 98se was alot more sturdy of a system.. mac os blows.. so yeah.. take it as u will my opinion is linux (especially ubuntu) is the better of the 3
Apples OS is unix based just like Linux. And manufacturers support it. If you do not mind going on to blogs and waiting for nasty, barely human geeks to help you find an answer to a bug, or lack of driver. It will be fine for you. It's a steep learning curve, might be worth it when you get there. But if you don't live in your parents basement and have something to do other than masturbate and look for answers for computer problems, Linux might be for you. I've tried it a couple of times. I need too many pariferals to even think about it. Writing my own driver for every fucking device..... Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
Pirate windows 7 iso. install Vlite and WAIK. remove extra languages and sample music/video/pics, extra screensavers, wallpaper, windows mail and Media Center, and the Windows Tour. Burn with imgburn. google "program based windows 7 loader". Install. Don't install the WAT update.
use both, why limit your self to one crappy OS
the only problem with an anti matter energy source.
well if thats the only problem
... discuss
I made my mom start using ubuntu. It was a bit of an adjustment for me, but of she didn't know how to use windows to begin with so it wasn't really any different for her and now I don't have to fix it every other fucking day. Sadly I must use TEH WINDBLOWS because gaems.
there are lots of programs u can use for playing games on linux (Wine/Cedega/PlayOnLinux) so there are ways around that even tho micro$hit likes 2copyright the drivers etc.. (lol reaper u) ps.. pic related
>>233 yeah but it's a pain in the ass and doesn't always work, plus i need to be proficient with windows because I know just enough about computers to be the de facto tech support for like 10 people
I just switched back to a mac mini. I'm moving to California and don't want to look like a rube. I started on the apple II E and the atari doing midi for a band I was in. That was yeers ago. I've used all three systems. They all suck for different reasons. Linux sucks a little bit harder.
I dont do midi so I cant say. Linux rules for doing graphics. Using the same programs like GIMP, Inkscape and Blender on Windows vs Linux. Linux wins its way faster.
So /tech/ies, What do you guys think is the superior OS between the two? Is it Mac? Or maybe PC.....Your call, Just tell me why! inb4 Linux is better.
FreeBSD FTW
Linux ftw, in Windows you are limited from a lot of things, with Linux you are able to fully control the computer, Sure on Windows you are able to play videogames and do a lot of other shit but when that problem gets fixed in Linux then it will totally pwn Windows (actually you will be able to play videogames on Linux when Gaikai and OnLive get released, the next-generation videogame platforms).
Linux is an old Russian Kalashnikov from the 60's Windows is a 9mm when you pinned down by machine gun fire And Mac is soft and squishy and makes you feel good.
Old copypasta is old
Just because you use a new image for the same crappy slogan don't refresh it either.
What is /tech/'s opinion on the viability of future energy sources (hydrogen etc.) Feel free to discuss idealistic energy sources that probably won't happen but are still a possibility. Just state thats what you are doing so you won't get trolled (example anti-matter reactor).
Ya I know a thimble full of antimatter would be hundreds of times more powerful than the largest hydrogen bomb. All the energy used to power all the superconducting magnets and refrigeration just to make antimatter would equal the output. No gain If they find a room temp supercondutor it might help but the magnets themselfs would take excessive amounts of electrical current. Thats also what makes tokamaks inefficent they take to much current to run them. I think trying to accumulate enough antimatter in a high enough density to do something with it would almost be impossible. Just a picogram of antimatter would do but particals of matter appear or materialize from nowhere and would annihilate it while in storage. The annihilation of antimatter would be faster than you can produce antimatter. A real vaccum does not even exist and thats one of problems with storage. Another problem with antimatter is its the most expensive material on earth to make. Cern spent billions to produce a billionth of a gram. Its just about enough antimatter to power a light bulb for about a minute.
A vid on helium 3 part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2xChmfLlMo part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eem7hDeREsY&feature=related Im sure the Reaper knows this. The vids are for those that dont. Enjoy The machines in the vids are tokamaks. Tokamaks are just a huge magnet that was invented by Russians that contain fusion reaction. I still think the Z-machine is a better way.
This is the old Z-machine. It took about a day to charge the capacitors to fire it. In the photos with all the lightning strikes that is wasted energy. Its electrical current that missed the target. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddD1mUifOn4 I the video you can see that everything at within 5 feet of the target was destroyed. That problem was solved about a year ago.
The old machine was about the size of a gym. This is the new z-machine and its about 8 feet wide and way more powerful. The old capacitors were about the size of a refrige and took all day to charge. The new caps 20 of them that are about the size and shape of a coffie can in this pic take 10 seconds to charge. Each cap can store enough electrical current to kill every human on earth. These caps are discharged exactly at the same time by the new super fast switches invented by the Russians. About the size of a shoebox. In the old machine some of the switches didnt switch on exactly at the same time.
These life saver shaped machines are stackable. If you need more electrical energy stack on another layer. Concept of the target. In the pic the fuel targets are on carousel so each time one is destroyed it can be replaced every 10 seconds. The heat from metal that get melted can be used to run steam generators but before it become solid it is poured back in a mold and recycled back to the carousel.
Best browser time. Here are your choices choose wisely. Opera Seamonkey Firefox Chrome IE AOL Safari Choose which browser is best, also we need facts on why. I choose AOL because I am an American and I love my country.
Iron, but it doesn't work with my new Mac. I'm using my PC offline only.

When it comes to speed. Mozilla K-meleon renders pages faster than any other browser but its not for everyone. The plugin extensions are scripts and the user interface looks 95ish. Facts dont believe the browser website when they say ours is faster. Test it yourself. http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/ Seamonkey would be the best for a PC with more that one user because each person can setup a profile. Bookmarks and custom settings go with that profile.
